Hello Friends! I’m getting excited for one of my most favorite Christmas traditions…the ELF on the Shelf! Does your family have an ELF? When our ELF, Snowflake, came to visit a couple years ago, I had no idea the boys would get into it so much. Our ELF isn’t as silly as some, but I still like to make the experience a little more special each year… This year, I created a little sign to add to our wreath…”This House is Under ELF Surveillance *enter on your best behavior*” It turned out cuter than I expected and adds a bit of fun upon entering our home…
Here’s what you need:
- Sign printed on Core’dinations Glitter Prints Paper
- Colored cardstock for backing
- Hole punch
I used the Awesome new Glitter Prints paper from Core’dinations to give it that extra shimmer…See that sparkle…
The Glitter Prints paper was surprisingly easy to use- I have never printed on anything thicker than cardstock and it went right through my printer. (I was a little nervous) I made sure to change the setting to specialty paper, so you’ll want to check your settings before printing. For the smaller size, I changed the size of the paper from 8.5 x 11 to 4 x 6. It’s the perfect size to fit inside a wreath…also the perfect size for a photo.
After printing the sign on the Glitter Prints paper using my Inkjet Printer, I used my scissors to trim the outside edge and corner the edges. Then I adhered the glitter sign to a piece of red cardstock and cornered those edges. The glitter did not flake off and was still super sparkly with such a vibrant color! I punched holes and threaded a festive ribbon through and knotted the ends where they were visible. And…that’s it! Hang it on display for all children to see…
