Hello Friends! Hope you all had a fun filled weekend! On Friday, I went on a field trip to the pumpkin patch with my kindergartner and today I’m headed to the zoo with my second grader…Field trips are such a fun way to spend much needed time with my big guys who are away at school all day.
My littlest guy gets to stay home with me while his big brothers go to school, so we get lots of special time together. He loves to craft…especially if it involves painting! The other day, I was trying to come up with a fall-ish craft that we had not done before (involving paint, of course!) Here’s what we came up with…Stamped Pumpkins– The perfect combo of kids craft and home decor for Momma!
I’m not sure why I hadn’t thought of this before…Cut a potato in half and it makes the perfect shape for a stamped pumpkin!
You could just put orange paint on a plate or pie tin and let your little one stamp away…We did that for a bit.
Then, we made a pumpkin print to keep…just for Mom…
To make your own, you need: potato cut in half, foam brush, orange paint, burlap or fabric square, patterned paper square, washi tape, and any other embellishments…
Use the foam brush to apply a thin coat of paint to the raw edge of the potato and stamp it onto the burlap.
Tape the burlap square to the paper square using washi tape…
Add a little stem made from a torn piece of washi tape…
Insert into a fun frame and you have a super cute piece of pumpkin art any little guy (or gal) would be proud of!
