Has Pumpkin Spice taken over your home too? I’m afraid my boys may be inheriting the same love as I have…
Pumpkin Spice in the Scentsy, Pumpkin Spice Bagels with Pumpkin Spice Cream Cheese for breakfast, Pumpkin Bars as a snack…I couldn’t resist a couple Pumpkin Spice Frappucinos at Starbucks…The Pumpkin Spice Chai Iced Coffee at Caribou Coffee is delish and did you know Culver’s has a Salted Caramel Pumpkin Spice Ice Cream? Pumpkin flavor is definitely one of my favorite parts of Fall…
So…When I was cleaning out my spices the other day, my 3-year old asked me to make playdough. I found a container of pumpkin pie spice I had made and thought it would be the perfect fall addition to our favorite playdough recipe…
I was right…This single batch of playdough was such a big hit! All my boys all wanted to play with it…even the one who thought he was too old for playdough. They baked cookies, made ice cream cones, and made mini pies. With the addition of a couple drops of Thieves essential oil, it smelled even more like a pumpkin pie right in my kitchen…Yum!
I know there are quite a few other homemade playdough recipes out there, but this one is still my favorite! Simply add some Pumpkin Pie Spice ( 1 Tbsp or so) and a couple drops of Thieves essential oil.
Here’s my favorite Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice…if you’d like to make your own like I do: 3 Tbsp ground cinnamon, 1 Tbsp ground ginger, 1 Tbsp ground nutmeg, 1 to 1 1/2 tsp ground cloves
Note: I am not an expert in essential oil usage. I research each oil before carefully using them with my children. If you are not comfortable with using oils with children, the playdough smells just as amazing without the oil.
Here’s another fun idea for playdough fun this season…Halloween Treat Bags
Enjoy having fun this fall with your kiddos!
