Hello Friends! I bet you’ve noticed I’ve taken a bit of a blogging break for the month of December. I just want to have time with my boys during this magical time of year. I know that one day they will be older and not want to do crafts, decorate gingerbread houses, and read holiday stories on the sofa. A few weeks ago, I shared this cute Yarn Ball Snowman craft my boys helped me make over on Sugar Bee Crafts…perfect for the Holidays and all winter. I LOVE decor that is not specific to Christmas and can be left out all winter….especially Snowmen!
How would you like to learn how I made this fun Snowman? Bonus- Your kids can help! My boys each assisted in creating their own Snowman and are so proud to have them displayed in their rooms.
Supplies…Basically, you need 3 sizes of Styrofoam balls, white yarn, a hot glue gun, and embellishments.
I added a little hot glue to the ball and started wrapping the yarn around. I wrapped it in all different directions until the ball was completely covered. Then I knotted off the end of the yarn.
I stacked the balls to look like a Snowman and glued them together with hot glue.
Now to embellish…
Buttons for eyes and buttons on the middle section…
The broken tip of an orange crayon for the nose…
A scrap of fabric tied around his neck for a scarf…
Sticks for arms…I just stuck them right into the Styrofoam ball…
For the hat, I cut A circle of black cardstock. Then I rolled a strip of black cardstock and glued it to the circle. The glitter band is glitter washi tape and helps hide the glue strip.
Set him in a cute tea cup or creamer pitcher and enjoy all winter long!
