Trim the Tree this Christmas with more than 35 ideas to inspire from your favorite bloggers! #trimthetree I’m going with a pretty colorful theme this year…I’m sneaking in some more elegant and glittery pieces (for me), but for the most part it will be fun and colorful (for my boys).  Today, I’m sharing how I made Yarn Wrapped Monogram Ornaments Make your own yarn wrapped Monogram Ornament! Perfect for the tree or a stocking embellishment- OneKriegerChick.com Cute, huh!  And they coordinate perfectly with the stockings from Pottery Barn Kids.

Let’s get started…You’ll need:

  • Yarn- red and white
  • wooden letter
  • glue gun
  • patience

Supplies for yarn wrapped monogram To start, I painted my letters with gray chalk paint.  I’m not sure that you have to do this step, but I thought it would look prettier if any shown through the yarn.  After the paint dried, I got started gluing…Working from the top and then all the way around the letter.  I glued just the section I was working on, then started wrapping yarn.  The yarn tangles easily, so I cut a length of yarn to work with.  Once I had wrapped that piece of yarn, I moved on to the next piece.  Alternate colors- red, white, red, white…  I did not pull the yarn tightly, but did make sure it was snug and pressed up against the previous strand.  Once you have made it all the way around the letter, create a hook out of yarn and seal with glue.   How to make a yarn wrapped Monogram Ornament...So cute...and so easy! Decorate with as you like…I think I will be hanging them with the boys stockings.  You never know, though, my boys have their own decorating opinion these days. The Monograms may go in the boys bedrooms for their own decor. Monogram Ornament- So cute on a tree or a stocking! OneKriegerChick.com
