Hello there friends! It’s been a crazy week full of Halloween parties and last minute costume making. Wouldn’t you know that the year I decide I’ll just buy costumes, I can’t find the costumes the boys want. They turned out pretty cute, though…and the boys love them-That’s what’s important! I’ll share pics tomorrow.
Needless to say…I had to step away from the blog for a minute (or a few days), but I’m back today with the #CreativeBuzz Team. This month we are sharing ideas perfect for this time of year. With fall parties, upcoming Christmas parties, traveling, and even friends stopping by unexpectedly we all need easy Hostess Gift Ideas…
I love to give gifts during the holidays…not just to family, but to our neighbors, the boys teachers, when we attend holiday gatherings, etc. Giving gifts can get really pricey, but really pretty gifts don’t have to be expensive at all.
These pretty stenciled tea towels are perfect for the season, but can be personalized any way you like. And…they are so quick and inexpensive to make.
Let’s get started…
I picked up a set of 4 white tea towels at Target for $3.99 and a bottle of gold fabric paint at JoAnn Fabric and Crafts. Then I cut out a deer silhouette using my Cricut Explore. (Use whatever image you like- a monogram may have crossed my mind too.)
Wash and iron the towels, then fold the towel so that your stencil is where you want it to be. Slide a piece of cardstock under the surface where you will be stenciling to prevent it from bleeding through. Lay the stencil into place. If you are afraid it will slide out of place, use a little painters tape to keep it in place. Using a stencil brush, gather a small amount of paint on your brush and fill in the stencil. My tip for stenciling fabric: Start with the middle of the shape and work out to the edge. This will help keep from bleeding under the stencil…just in case there is too much paint on the brush.
Whip up a few of these towels and have them ready for holiday gift giving. Give as a set of two with a pretty ribbon and a handwritten tag. Or, if you have extra time, make a batch of my Two-Ingredient Pumpkin Bars and wrap the container with a towel.

What’s you favorite Hostess to give or receive?
I LOVE your tea towels….the stenciling really makes them special! Stumbled
Thanks so much…I love them too! I need to make a few more as gifts because I’m keeping these.
Stenciling a tea towel or any other fabric gift would be great with any stencil appropriate to the season or person. Love this idea, quite versatile. Will be making some of these for gifts. Glad I clicked in your post. Quick and easy to do while being thrifty is my kind of gift. I make some thing every year but was stalled for good idea this year, think you’ve solved my quandary. Who doesn’t like a decorated t towel to hang up, decorate kitchen. Happy week and seaons
