Hello Friends!
I am so absolutely tickled that today has finally arrived! You may have seen some of my sneak peeks about my Fall decor, but today is the day I’ll be welcoming you all into my home for our An Autumn Welcome Home Tour…
Nina, from Everday Enchanting, and I have teamed up to bring you some of the most talented Home Bloggers we know…Over 35 blogger homes will be shown off over the course of this one week. Exciting, I know. If you are just joining in on the tour, the links to all the other homes are at the bottom of this post.
What are we waiting for? Grab a cup of coffee (that’s what I’m drinking) or whatever you prefer and get those pinning fingers ready…there’s been lots of inspiration shared already!
Welcome to my country home…We live in the country in a traditional ranch which we purchased as a foreclosure three years ago. We completely renovated it in three months and moved in eight days before I left for the hospital to bring home our third boy. There are actually only eleven things that are original to the house when we moved in…The brick on the front of the house is probably the only one you’ll see.
If you were to come to our house, here’s what you would see first…our large front porch.
My Summer flowers still looked too pretty to tear out and replace with mums, so I added a few fallish touches like a soda crate full of mini gourds that grew as a surprise patch out by our barn, a few minnow buckets, and an assortment of old lanterns. The pedal car was my husbands when he was a child and our boys still love to ride on it. Get the sense I like old stuff?
Rather than a wreath this year, I hung the Chalkboard Welcome Sign I created from an old cabinet door.
Come on in…
This is what you’ll see when walking through the door…Our main living space is basically one large open room.
Upon entering, you’ll see more old stuff and antiques with a lot of fun new stuff mixed in. Almost every piece in my home tells a story…I like to surround myself with items that have a meaning or memory. This map is of the county where my husband grew up…The sofa table is actually a card table- the top layer twists so that four people can play cards, and the chair was a gift from my mother-in-law…
My grandfather was a typewriter salesman and this typewriter was one of the pieces I inherited from him. I just tucked in a little welcome note. How darling is that little pallet pumpkin I won from my sweet friend Katie at Little House of Four.
Looking back where you just came from…My antique bench with a few chalk painted pumpkins and some cutie pie photos of all my boys on my Gallery Style Photo Board and Pottery Barn inspired Chalkboard Frames. Our little dog, Avery, has a rough life!
Besides a few pumpkins here and there, I used more green in my color palette this year. I wanted color, but with flowers like hydrangeas and zinnias, and gourds and hedge apples. I still love my Thank You pillow as much as the day I made it…And will share how I created my thankful pillow soon. One can never have enough pillows, right?
And…just in case you are wondering if my house looks like this all the time, No. The candy would have disappeared by the time I took this picture and the table would be covered with crayons and markers.
The mosaic wall of doors in our living room is probably my favorite piece in our home. We were on a tight budget trying to remodel an entire home and had to get creative…My husband came up with this pattern on his own and I think he did an amazing job! We added the built ins last fall because I needed more space to display my “stuff.”
Because the doors are such a bold statement in the room, I try to go pretty simple with my mantel decorations. White pumpkins from JoAnn and a few branches from my Oak Leaf Hydrangea surround my new family portrait…I simply lined our boots up in front of the barn, took a picture, and had it printed at Staples for $1.79! Seriously!
More Oak Leaf Hydrangea branches and my State Love Pillow frame the fireplace …
A few decorative pumpkins, fresh zinnias, and hedge balls on display in my shelves…
On the other side of the Living Room is the Kitchen and then the Dining Room…That hole used to be a wall and the wood framing the island used to be two 9 ft, pocket doors out of an old house. The key holes and handles are still in place. We made the hanging pendant lights out of my great-grandmothers blue Mason Jars and the tin ceiling is from W.F. Norman in Nevada, MO. I shared how I painted my boys silhouettes the other day…
The kitchen proved nearly impossible to photograph with the lighting that day, but I did add a few cute touches like the decorative Candy Apples I shared at Sugar Bee Crafts, vintage white Fire King coffee mugs, a cute Fall cream and sugar set (and yes, I do have Pumpkin Spice Creamer on hand for when you stop by), a basket of just picked apples, my most colorful set of antique Pyrex bowls…
On the island between the kitchen and Living Room is where I keep my Wagon Tray filled with meal time essentials…and a few antique mason jars…and pretty flowers, of course…
I love that I can see all around the space when I’m working in the kitchen…See how I updated the bench after my boys broke the rung…
On the other side of the kitchen is the dining room and it only looks like this because I have special guests…This table is where we eat, play games, do crafts, and is generally covered with a beautiful, creative mess…See the dining room from the beginning {HERE}.
But, today I made it pretty for you (and shoved all of the creative stuff in the dresser)…Sometimes simple is best. When I added the hedge apples to the old tool box I painted, I decided not to set the table…The white runner is vintage, but the burlap piece was in Target’s dollar spot (love that place!) I made the slipcovers last year to make my three mismatched {free} chairs coordinate. I created the Mason Jar Chandelier during the So You Think You’re Crafty Competition last fall. The flag hanging on the wall going down to the basement was created during that competition too, but I’ve never blogged about it…
Around the corner is a little built in nook that I turned into my mini-office. Now, I can work, cook, and see what the boys are up to all at the same time…
On the other side of the table is our Art Buffet…filled with art supplies. But it has a much more grown-up look right now with service for dinner…I made the book page leaf garland last year and have collected the other items over time…
One last glace around the other spaces…
Hope you enjoyed the tour…I’m so happy you stopped by! Hop on over to one of the other fabulous homes and check out all of their eye candy!

Ariean your home tour is so beautiful!! I absolutely love all the pretty fall vignettes but it has such great bones that it could suit any season – with all your custom DIY touches!!
You did an amazing job with your home. I can’t believe it looks this good with all the boys you have. Especially the rug under the table. Of course one of my favorite projects are the Mason jar lighting. Everything looks perfect here. I can’t wait to see what it looks like for Halloween.
