Hexagon Earrings and Necklace

Hello Friends!

Have you heard of the Design Space Star Challenge over at Cricut?  Well, I’m participating in it!  Squeal!  The first challenge is “Fashion”, so I created hexagon earrings and a coordinating necklace using my Cricut Explore.  They’re even made from paper!  I’m on a team {Team 10} with 10 other Awesome bloggers who all came up with a project around the theme “Yellow.”

Ready to see how you can make Fun jewelry out of paper? Hexagon-necklace-and-earrings-set-OneKriegerChick.com #DesignSpaceStar #CricutExplore What you need:

  • 2 pieces heavy card stock in your choice of color
  • Cutting machine (I used the Cricut Explore)
  • Jewelry supplies: chain, jump rings, clasp, needle nose pliers)
  • Adhesives: hot glue gun and glue pen (I used Elmer’s Craft Bond fine line)

Let’s make the Earrings first:

Start by cutting out 6 hexagons in 4 different sizes using the Cricut Explore.  Do you see how tiny it cuts? The lines are perfect!

Let’s make a Necklace:

Start by cutting out 9 hexagons in 3 different sizes using the Cricut Explore.  It cuts those teeny tiny holes perfectly and they peel so easily off of the mat. Hexagon Bib Necklace-shapes-OneKriegerChick.com CricutExplore #DesignSpaceStar Adhere three of each same size together.  Stack on top of each other, but do not adhere the 3 different sizes.

The chain was much too long for one necklace, so I shortened it to a desired length by opening up the rings in the necklace.  I then attached a small jump ring with a mini silver bead to one end of the chain.  I added a jump ring with a clasp to the other end.  I left a little extra length on the chain, so the necklace can be adjusted.

Now you have a fun coordinated set perfect for Fall!  I can’t wait to wear mine with my new gray striped Matilda Jane shirt shown above!
