Kids Camp Craft…and a HUGE craft giveaway!

Hello Friends…Happy Monday!  Are you ready for a great start to your week?  How about an Awesome Giveaway AND a Super-cute Kids Craft?!

Let’s start with the super-cute kids craft…Camping Themed T-shirts! How to make Kids Camping themed shirts and learn shapes too! OneKriegerChick.com This month’s Craft Lightning Challenge was to create a “Kids Camp Craft”…made in only 15 minutes!  15 minutes is a real challenge with kids, at least with my boys.  My boys like to spend a lot of time on each piece of art they create.

Why not create Camping themed shirts?  And learn along the way!

These Fun shirts can definitely be made in 15 minutes.  I recommend prepping the supplies ahead of time, though.  Here’s what you’ll need…
Camp T-Shirt Supplies needed {shirts- I used old t-shirts, fabric paint, sponges, not pictured- scissors, marker}

Now that you have your supplies, let’s get to crafting!

Start by using a marker to draw the shapes typically found while camping.  Triangle= tent, teepee, grass; circle= Sun or leaves; Rectangle= tree trunk; Small triangle scraps= birds.  There are many other possibilities!

Camp Shirt- making sponge stampers Cut out the shapes using a pair of scissors.

Camp shirt- sponge stamps Prep the shirt by sliding a thicker piece of paper or cardstock inside the shirt.  I just used half of a manila folder.  This will prevent the fabric paint from seeping through to the back of the shirt.

Camp shirt- insert Here’s what our prepped work space looked like…It got a lot messier than this after this shot!  We planned out what each boy wanted their Camping Scene to look like.

OneKriegerChick.com Then, we got to painting.  My oldest, August,  made his shirt with almost no help, but his younger brother, Ollie, wanted a little more assistance.  I added paint to a plate for each boy for them to dip the sponges.  I used a foam brush to add more paint, as needed, to each stamp.
