Hello Friends! Wishing you were at the beach? Me too! But, since I am just hanging out here in Missouri without a beach in sight, I’m thoroughly loving the Beachy themed projects the #CreativeBuzz team created this month…
DIY Faux Coral ~ All Things With Purpose
Rope Anchor Coaster ~ Made to be a Momma
Shell Specimen Art ~ One Krieger Chick
Custom Beach Pail Gift Idea ~ 733 Blog
Swimsuit Coverup Tutorial ~ Sugar Bee Crafts
Beach Ball Sugar Cookies ~ This Silly Girls Life
Awesome, right! When I think of the beach, I think of shells…lots of them.
You might remember seeing this frame before…maybe this project from Valentines Day…
So cute, right? I figured if it was cute with hearts, it would look great with shells. Plus, I have wanted to create a Specimen Art project for some time now.
If I had know how easy this project would turn out, I would have done it ages ago.
All you need is a glue gun, shells, and a surface to adhere the shells.
Set the shells out in the pattern you like. I chose to have one colored shell in each row.
Then, simply glue each shell on with a glue gun. I found they adhered better if the glue was applied to the shell first, then set into place.
After each shell is attached, you have a piece of darling beachy artwork.
Add a few more shells for decor…maybe a couple old treasures…and you have instant beachy decor.
Make sure to check out the other fun Beachy projects…
If you haven’t entered to win $310 to Target, you only have a few more days!
This is such a super fun project! Love the different shells!
I love this artwork. It screams summer and beach to me!
I love this! Such a creative idea! It makes me wish I was still on vacation at the beach!
Love the shell idea. What did you use for the back ground to hold the shells. Cant tell if cloth, mesh or card stock.I want to try this soon as possible but need to know the back ground and how you attached to the frame. Thanking you in advance. Bobbi
It’s just cardboard with burlap wrapped over it. You could use pretty much any background you like, though. This has held up nicely and not a single shell has fallen off. I would love to see a photo of your project!
Hope you have a great week!
