Hello friends! Ready for some fun Summer inspiration today? Good, because I’ve teamed up with nine other bloggers to bring you a super fun…
Yep…Each of us created a “Summery” themed project to share with you. If you’ve been following my blog for long, you know I’ve been slowly finishing our pool house. Well, after this project I can check one more thing off the list.
I created an Ombre painted Mason Jar Silverware Caddy to use in our poolhouse…although lately I’ve been using it on my kitchen island. I’ve loved the painted mason jar look for so long and I love Mason jars in general, so it was a perfect fit…
How did I do it? Oh my gosh, you guys…it was SO easy. Let me show you.
I chose to use the same three watery blues I have been using in my other Poolhouse decor.
Then I gathered three clean, same size, wide mouth mason jars, and a paint brush and set to work. Each jar got two light coats of paint, with drying time in between.
The paint looks really thick, but not to worry…After all jars completely dried, they each got a sanding. I used a sanding block and sanded off all the paint on the letters and a few other spots.
Here’s what they look like finished…Notice anything different about the jars in this picture? It’s hard to tell, but the jar on the left has a coat of clear cream wax. Each jar received a coat of wax…I’m hoping this will help to protect them from outdoor (or indoor) use. Plus, it gives the jars a pretty, finished sheen.
I also added cork to the bottom of the inside of the jars…
Wrap a rope around the outside…or ribbon would be darling too. I was going for a beachy, pool feel, so rope is perfect…Fill it with dinnerware for indoors, dinnerware for outdoors, or set it up for a specific theme. Wouldn’t this be perfect for a “Root Beer Float” theme? Yum!

I made something similar for my daughters birthday party a few years back. I still have it and love it, but yours is SO much cuter! I love how you painted the glass. SO smart.
Thanks, Kim! Perfect for a party theme…I’ll just have to make another!
