Happy Day Friends! Ready to be inspired? I’ve teamed up with a few other Amazingly talented bloggers to bring you not only a collection of inspiring Spring projects that you will want to go pin immediately, but a giveaway too! Woo-hoo!
Did you guess this one was mine?
It’s not quite warm enough to do my outdoor planting, but I am so ready. I thought it would be fun to bring some green indoors this year.
For the pots, here’s what you’ll need…
I found these great little fabric pots at Dollar General $1.50 for 8 pots. The paint is Antique White and Peacock Blue from Poppy Seed Projects, and the paint dauber can be purchased from any craft store.
Here’s how I created them…
First, I used the paint dauber to paint random polka dots in white on one pot. For the Ombre effect, I painted from light to dark in color.
For the next pot, I added just a dab of Peacock blue to quite a bit of white paint. Then, I painted random polka dots on the next pot. I did not wash the paint dauber in between colors. Working from light to dark, you are covering up most of the previous color with the next color you apply.
Here’s what my palette looked like in progress. For each new color, I made it just a shade darker than the previous.
When the pots are all painted, it’s time to create a banner!
Here’s what you’ll need…
Kraft stickers from the Target $1 Spot, wooden kebab skewers, bakers twine, fine point Sharpie, and glue dots (not pictured).
1. Tie twine around the skewer and tie a knot.
2. Attach a couple glue dots where you want the twine to stick and stay in place. Simply lay the skewer down on the glue dot and it will adhere to the skewer.
3.Wrap the twine around the skewer. The glue dots will keep it firmly in place.
4. Repeat the same step for the other side.
For the banner…Apparently I didn’t take any photos of this process…Oops! The kraft pennant stickers are sticky on the back, so all you have to do is peel them off of the sheet and stick them back to back. Make sure to place one on the twine, then lay the other on top. They are very sticky! I then wrote out the letters for SPRING and doodled some stitching with a black fine point Sharpie.
Now for planting…I love moss. The vibrant green is beautiful and is super easy to take care of indoors. I purchased two types of moss: Scotch and Irish. One is a deeper green and the other is more yellow green. They both flower a pretty little white flower.
The pots are not very big, so I split one larger moss plant into smaller plants to fill the small planters.
Then I stuck the mini banner in the two end pots. Done.
Because the pots have a hole in the bottom, I set them on a plastic tray…Just in case. The moss doesn’t require much water, so just water as needed.
Simple decor that packs a punch of color and brings Spring into my Dining Room…

This is such a cute idea! I am a food blogger (http://www.foodtasticmom.com), and need others to grow my food for me
I tend to have a brown thumb. But, I think I could manage to put this together and keep it alive! I’m stopping over from Whimsy Wednesday. I’m pinning this to share on my Facebook fan page!
