This project post is a part of a paid marketing campaign with Snap. Although this post is sponsored the project idea and all opinions expressed are my own.
My husband came inside the other week singing “Happy belongs to you, my brother…” and asks me if I have ever heard that song.
Well, yes…
He tells me he LOVES that song and keeps singing it…even though some of the verses were his own…
Then all the boys are singing it…
And I think (insert BIG smile)…this is good…
If you’ve never heard it, here you go…{Happy by Pharrell Williams}…The video can’t help but make you smile and probably dance a bit too!
Happy does belong to all of us and sometimes we just need the reminder…
Then I received this Amazing package from the Amy Tangerine Plus One line at American Crafts…
And it was HAPPY…
Happy papers and stamps and stickers and an awesome embroidery kit and the cutest skinny washi tape you’ve ever seen!
…and I kind of felt like it was my birthday or something…
…and my six-year old couldn’t wait to get his hands on it either!
Immediately, I wanted to scrapbook…Did you know I LOVE to scrapbook? Yep…
But, I couldn’t create an ordinary scrapbook page…
So I played around with the goodies and here’s what I came up with…
And here’s how I put it all together…
I started by spray painting my embroidery hoop Aqua. Then, I traced the hoop onto the paper and set out my supplies to see how it would all fit.
Using the Aqua thread, the embroidery kit, and yellow scrapbook paper I embroidered the word BELONGS. I then cut the word out and cut triangles out of the ends to resemble a banner.
Next, I embroidered the word YOU using the lemon thread. I wrote the word TO with a pencil in my own handwriting and embroidered using the cherry thread. The thread is secured to the back with tape.
I lined up the embroidery hoop and pressed the two hoops together. This is not as easy with paper as with fabric. You must loosen the top hoop almost all the way and press from the backside.
Then tighten the hoops up as tight as you can and trim the ruffled edge.
Then you can push the hoops together a little tighter without all the excess paper.
I didn’t want the words HAPPY and BELONGS to be flat on the paper, so I attached them using dimensional sticky foam tabs as seen here.
Last step is to embellish…So many Fun embellishments to choose from! I ended up using a yellow screenprinted clothespin, badge button, and a fabric brad. I could have added so many more, but the hoop isn’t very big.
So…I know you all LOVE this product as much as I do! Well, Guess what?! The Amy Tangerine Plus One Line will be available for sale on HSN on March 24!
The Amy Tangerine Plus One was the Top Selling Signature Line released in Winter 2014!
