DIY Glittered Snowflakes {and other glitter projects!}

Michaels Glitter post

Hello my Sweet Friends!

This is one of my most favorite projects in a long time and I am so excited to share it with you!

Lucky for me, I was given the opportunity to play with some of this Ah-mazing Recollections glitter from Michaels Stores Michaels Stores Glitter

Michaels Recollections glitter

I LOVE it!  So much fun to work with and so easy to use…It is available in a variety of colors and textures like very fine, chunky and tinsel…Available in a set or individual containers.

Let me just show you…

This year, I am using a lot of Snowflakes in my Holiday decor.  I want to be able to use the same decorations through the Winter and Snowflakes are perfect!

So…I also wanted to bring the outdoors inside and take advantage of all of the decorative materials I have in my yard…

I found the perfect branches and spray painted them cream.

Then I wedged them into a tall glass vase with some red ball ornaments.

Now, for the fun part…the glittery part!

I cut out snowflakes in a few different shapes on my cutting machine… Cut out snowflakes

Then, I sprayed them a couple at a time with spray adhesive.

And…coated them with with this beautiful Extra Fine Recollections Glitter from Michaels Stores.  The white is “Glitz” and the turquoise is “Peacock.”  Both can be purchased Exclusively in Michaels Stores starting at only $3.99.

Glitter Snowflakes- LOVE!

Once they dried completely on one side, I repeated the glittering to the other side.

Then, I gave them a couple light coats of satin finish.  This just seals on the glitter so every surface in your house isn’t covered.  (like mine is…)

Now it’s time to hang the sparkly little beauties…

Easy DIY Glitter Snowflake Ornaments

I used a small hole punch and this fun red and white striped yarn that is supposed to be used to knit sock monkeys…Perfect for home decor too!

And here’s how it turned out…

Glitter Let it Snow banner

Of course I had to create a banner for the French doors…covered in Michaels Recollections extra fine glitter in “Glitz.”  It sure glistens…

Just imagine how it will look with snow on the ground…

DIY Let it Snow glitter banner

I cut 4 in. letters and covered them in glitter the same way I did the snowflakes.  Then hole punched the top of each letter and tied each onto a long piece of yarn.  I hung the banner with good ole scotch tape…

Plain playdough with extra fine “Peacock” and Chunky “Pesto” left over from a different Tree project that was a major fail…Glitter was Awesome, though!
