It’s Finally Friday…Woo-hoo!
Today is a crafty post, but in conjunction with what I am most thankful for…
Never in a million years would I have imagined I would be living the life I do.
That I would live where I do, have all that I have, be married to the man I am lucky enough to call my husband, and be able to spend every day with the most important little people in my world.
For this, I am ever so thankful and feel deeply blessed.
And who do I have to thank for all this…GOD…Without GOD steering me down the path he has chosen for me, I may not be in the place I am.
“Thank You GOD For Blessing Me With So Much More Than I Deserve…” Just the reminder I need to see on a daily basis…
Months ago, I saw a pillow with a similar quote in a cute little store. Of course I wanted it, but naturally it wasn’t there when I went back to buy it.
I already had the plain pillow cover, so it was all about the stenciling and iron-on…
First, I created a stencil using the Cricut Craft Room. This was my first time using the Craft Room and it was Awesome…No idea why it has taken me so long to try it out!
I just used the font that is provided with the Craft Room called Cricut Craft Room Basics and cut out my lettering. I then placed the stencil on the pillow cover and very lightly dabbed on turquoise fabric paint. I wanted to give a less than perfect look with some fabric showing through the paint. The paint did not take long to dry.
Now for the fun part…the sparkly gold…I cut out the word GOD using the Songbird font following the directions on the roll of Cricut vinyl. Make sure you cut a mirror image of the word…Or your word will be backwards when you iron it on. I might have learned this lesson for you…
And the new tools were so easy to use! Where have these been the last few years?! The scraper gets all the little bits off the mat and the spatula has a new angled design which makes a huge difference. Plus, I love the new look!
Then, place the letters onto your pillow and iron the vinyl according to the package. I placed a thin tea towel in between my iron and the plastic coating. It ironed on so easily! No glittery mess at all! And my boys thought it was amazing to watch!
I’m pretty much loving it too…And REALLY loving the gold glitter! Hmmm…How many more projects can I create with gold glitter?
Are you LOVING the Gold trend too?
