Hello again…Ready for a super easy craft that will add a special touch to your Fall or Thanksgiving decor?
How about making a leaf garland out of book pages?!
So simple…Your kiddos could even help with this one!
What you’ll need:
- an old book you don’t mind tearing up
- a leaf template
- scissors
- bakers twine or ribbon
- optional: metallic paint and a pencil with a brand new eraser
Here’s how I did it…
I used two different leaf shapes I cut out on my Cricut. You could easily google a leaf image or freehand a leaf. I chose the easy way.
Tear out a few pages from your book. Trace the leaf on one half of a book page. Then lay that page on the top of a few others and fold in half. This way you can cut multiple leaves at the same time. Do this with different leaf shapes and until you have enough leaves.
Then punch a hole in each leaf. You can do this in a stack as well.
String one leaf at a time onto the string. In between each leaf, I tied a knot to keep the leaves separate. Do this until you have a long enough garland.
For added glitz (and because I just can’t leave a project alone)…Add a few polka dots to some of the leaves. I just stamped some bronze metallic paint onto a few of the leaves using the round eraser on a pencil.
And that’s it!
I also created this fun book page leaf wreath…
To see how I created the Wreath, See {Here}…I used the exact same method.
