Now on to something New and Fun…Feature Friday!

I bet you have noticed the posts have been slim the past couple weeks.  I’m having a hard time keeping up with it all.   So…For the next few weeks, while I am busy with the So You Think You’re Crafty Competition, I have invited some of my favorite fellow bloggers to come share a guest post!

Fun, right!  You will Adore them all!

First up is my sweet friend, Leslie, from Moore Than A Mommy.  Leslie is one of the first bloggers I met through blogging.  So glad I  did because she has too many delicious recipes to count… many are included in my meal plans.  I am super excited she is here today to share a recipe I am sure you all will LOVE!
Hi everyone! I am so happy to be here at OneKriegerChick visiting with you guys today! My name is Leslie and I am hopping over here from my little blog, Moore Than A Mommy, where I share new recipes, dinner menus, and super easy crafts for the busy mommy.
Today, I am going to share one of my new favorite recipes with you, Crock Pot Lasagna. This recipe is perfect for busy moms who don’t want to spend a ton of time or energy on dinner. You can prepare all the ingredients the night before and just layer them up in the crock pot when you are ready to cook it.

The BEST Crock Pot Lasagna {Printable Recipe}

1/2-lb ground beef
1/2-lb ground Italian sausage (casings removed)
1/2 large onion, diced
1 tbsp. butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
1-24oz jar marinara sauce
1-14.5oz can diced tomatoes with basil and garlic, drained
4 c mozzarella cheese, divided
15oz ricotta cheese
1 tbsp. Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper
1-box regular lasagna noodles (I did not use a whole box)

First, you want to brown the meat in a large skillet, drain it, and set it aside. While the meat is browning, mix 3 cups of mozzarella, ricotta, and Italian seasonings.

After the meat is done, melt butter in the skillet and cook onions until softened. Add garlic and cook for a few minutes more (this is one of my favorite scents in the kitchen). Once the onion and garlic smell like Italian Heaven, season them with a little salt and pepper.

In a greased crock pot, spread a small spoonful of the sauce and meat mixture in the bottom. Top that with a layer of noodles. Depending on your crock pot size, you may need to break them. As you can see, I used 2 noodles per layer.

Spread a layer of the ricotta/mozzarella mix on top of the noodles and repeat the process until your crock pot is full (or you run out of goodies).

The last two layers of the lasagna should be meat sauce and the remaining 1 cup of mozzarella cheese. YUMMO!

You will cook this on low for 4-hours or high for 2-hours. If you leave early in the morning and want to have this ready when you get home, it helps to have a crock pot that has a timer that will set it to warm once the cook time is up. That is such a lifesaver for working moms (and dads)!

I just thought I would throw this one in here. We have horrible lighting in our kitchen so for these pictures, I put the crock pot on the floor which was VERY tempting for this little girl.

I hope you and your family enjoy this simple and delicious lasagna recipe as much as my little family does!
