Just in time for Labor Day…my sweet friend, Sarah, is sharing a delicious side dish…perfect to throw together for your weekend festivities!
Hello to my new friends from Onekriegerchick! My name is Sarah and I enjoy sharing recipes through my business as a Senior Consultant with The Pampered Chef. My business page is full of recipes not only from the Pampered Chef test kitchens, but from mine as well. Today I am sharing a recipe passed down from my Grandmother, with a few modern touches to save time! Enjoy!
You will need the following ingredients:
20oz can crushed pineapple
1 C coleslaw dressing
14oz bag of mixed slaw (or, if preferred, one head of cabbage)
10oz bag of miniature marshmallows
You’ll want to add the slaw (or prepared cabbage), dressing, and pineapple (undrained) into a large mixing bowl.
Top with ¾ of the bag of marshmallows. (I used a pretty mix of the orange,strawberry, lemon, and lime mix since it’s spring, but regular mini marshmallows are also fine.)
Fold all ingredients until just mixed.
Cover the coleslaw and allow it to “marinate” for 3-4 hours in the refrigerator.
Fold the slaw well before serving.
This is definitely a side dish that gets better with time. As the ingredients start to mix the flavor is amazing! (I couldn’t help myself… I am eating a small bowl full as I type!)
