DIY Handpainted Monogram {Poolhouse decor}

Hello Friends!  Can you believe it is Friday already?  Where has the time gone…I am so not ready for Summer to be over.  With our abnormally long winter, it feels like Summer practically just started.

The Poolhouse decor is coming along…I still have a few more fun projects to finish before the reveal, though.

Today, I’m going to share a project that has been in the works for a while now…(like since last Summer when I was supposed to have it completed…Oops!)  Mr. Kriegerchick is always bring me home “treasures” with a fun idea in mind as to what I can do with them.

Last Summer, he came home with this cool piece from an old windmill.

It is actually called a vane…bet most of you didn’t know that…I didn’t…I had to google it! :)

He wanted me to paint “something” on it to hang on the side of the Poolhouse, yet all the “something’s” I came up with were met with a weird look.

So, I just did what I wanted to anyway…

First, I gave it a good cleaning.  Then…It’s really hard to tell, but I sketched my design onto the open space with a pencil.

Next, I started painting away!  I used three shades of blue to mimic the water. And a little helper might have jumped in and left his mark too.

Looks pretty awesome hung on the side of the Poolhouse and creates a fun greeting when people come to visit.
