Art buffet {with crafty little goodies!}

Hello there friends…

Just wondering…Would any of you see potential in this piece?

Art buffet before {Onekriegerchick.com}

I did too.

The same cannot be said for Mr. Kriegerchick.

This old dirty dresser somehow made its way to my parents house.  My dad may have brought it home…My mom may have wanted it out of the way…I knew just the right spot for it!

Plus…it was free!

I knew it would be the perfect storage for my dining linens and apron collection.

That was until the dining room table repeatedly looked like this…

I was continually making trips to the craft room to get art supplies…

Then it hit me…

The old dresser would make a perfect Art Buffet!

This way, the boys have a Buffet of art supplies within reach… And I have a Fun, Colorful, Springy display in the Dining room.

Win, Win!!

Besides the supplies you see in the Buffet, the top drawer is loaded.  The middle drawer houses paper, coloring books, etc. and the bottom drawer is empty…For now.

    This is a great idea! I have to say, though, I might have painted the hardware a nice pale color to brighten and modernize this, but I like how it looks all the same! I do appreciate that you didn`t paint the good wood, too.

      Thanks…I never thought to paint the hardware. I left them because they are easy to open for the boys with the intention of replacing them later on. I love the worn look of the wood too!

        Worn can be so authentic, but I also always love seeing the shine and depth of real wood. Why pretend it is cheaper (like cheap mdf) when it is high quality stuff by painting it over and hiding it?

    Wow! I have had a similar antique chest in my kitchen for many years. The items inside had changed as my family has grown. One drawer was always full of play doh mats and supplies. Fun times. Great memories.

    The bottom part of our china cabinet turned into an “art cabinet” I love how the kids know where to go and for the most part, it all gets put away…kinda. :)

    I love this crafty buffet!! It’s so adorable and such a great way to store art supplies. Right now I just have a Sterilite “4 drawer stand” (what are those things called??) full of ours. I need to get it together and do something cute.

    I’d be thrilled if you’d link up at this week’s Off the Hook!

      Thanks! I know exactly what you are talking about. I still have tubs of stuff downstairs, but now I can switch it out. Love to see what you come up with!

    That is such a great idea! I love having the supplies near where they use them…hopefully it helps make clean up a bit easier as well, right?
    Thanks so much for sharing at my Real Family Fun link party.
    Hope to see you again next week.

    This is adorable Ariean! Thanks for sharing at Mom’s Library! The only problem I would have would be kids climbing it to get the art supplies! Lol Mine are monkeys!

    So cute! I love how this turned out. As a mom of an avid kid crafter I love how you put this all together and so functional too! I’ll be featuring this on my party highlight post. Thanks for stopping by Crafty Tuesday and linking up!

    It’s perfect! I’m desperate for something like that to store all of our art supplies – they multiply overnight!

      Thank you so much! We are really enjoying it! The ABC Art is actually just a piece of scrapbook paper I fell in love with at Archivers and framed. I bet they still have the paper…It was not that long ago that I purchased it.

      Have a Happy Week!

    I know that we all love exposure and the post will go live next week, but I just wanted to make sure you wouldn’t mind the photo and link back. Let me know if you’d rather not be included.

    Thanks,
