Hello there friends…
Just wondering…Would any of you see potential in this piece?
I did too.
The same cannot be said for Mr. Kriegerchick.
This old dirty dresser somehow made its way to my parents house. My dad may have brought it home…My mom may have wanted it out of the way…I knew just the right spot for it!
Plus…it was free!
I knew it would be the perfect storage for my dining linens and apron collection.
That was until the dining room table repeatedly looked like this…
These little cuties just LOVE to create! (Not sure where they get it! )
I was continually making trips to the craft room to get art supplies…
Then it hit me…
The old dresser would make a perfect Art Buffet!
This way, the boys have a Buffet of art supplies within reach… And I have a Fun, Colorful, Springy display in the Dining room.
Win, Win!!
Besides the supplies you see in the Buffet, the top drawer is loaded. The middle drawer houses paper, coloring books, etc. and the bottom drawer is empty…For now.
Just a couple more pictures of its cuteness…
The framed Alphabet is a piece of scrapbook paper found at Archivers…
See how I made the HAPPY letters HERE…
And the BEST part is…
The boys LOVE it!!

This is a great idea! I have to say, though, I might have painted the hardware a nice pale color to brighten and modernize this, but I like how it looks all the same! I do appreciate that you didn`t paint the good wood, too.
Thanks…I never thought to paint the hardware. I left them because they are easy to open for the boys with the intention of replacing them later on. I love the worn look of the wood too!
Ariean
Worn can be so authentic, but I also always love seeing the shine and depth of real wood. Why pretend it is cheaper (like cheap mdf) when it is high quality stuff by painting it over and hiding it?
Love this idea! Our table always has the latest & greatest creations covering it (mine & theirs). Now I want a cool old dresser!
We are having fun with it…I think my dad found the dresser on the side of the road!
Have a Happy week!
Ariean
Thanks Shelly…I love all your ideas too! Too bad you’re not my neighbor…Our boys would have a great time together!
very cute!
Thanks Teresa! It’s great for naptime!
My kinda decorating! Cheap, functional & purposeful. So much character and history behind these pieces!
Thanks…I think it’s fun and a much better use for the space in our creative household!
Have a Happy week Courtney…See you at church!

How fun and neatly organized. I definitely need something like that. We always have crayons and paper all over the floor!
Neatly organized for a bit…My oldest already rearranged it a few times. I’m still picking up bits and pieces, but it’s so much easier!
Ariean
Wow! I have had a similar antique chest in my kitchen for many years. The items inside had changed as my family has grown. One drawer was always full of play doh mats and supplies. Fun times. Great memories.
Love it! I hope my boys have memories like that as they get older!

The bottom part of our china cabinet turned into an “art cabinet” I love how the kids know where to go and for the most part, it all gets put away…kinda.
Great thinking Amanda…That’s my theory too!
See you soon!
Ariean
I love this crafty buffet!! It’s so adorable and such a great way to store art supplies. Right now I just have a Sterilite “4 drawer stand” (what are those things called??) full of ours. I need to get it together and do something cute.
I’d be thrilled if you’d link up at this week’s Off the Hook!
Thanks! I know exactly what you are talking about. I still have tubs of stuff downstairs, but now I can switch it out. Love to see what you come up with!
Have a Happy Day!

I think it looks perfect. Such a beautiful and functional space.
How cute! Love how bright and cheery it all looks. Visiting from Thrifty 101.
Thanks! We are still enjoying it! The bright colors are one of my favorite parts!
Have a Happy Week!

That is such a great idea! I love having the supplies near where they use them…hopefully it helps make clean up a bit easier as well, right?
Thanks so much for sharing at my Real Family Fun link party.
Hope to see you again next week.

This is adorable Ariean! Thanks for sharing at Mom’s Library! The only problem I would have would be kids climbing it to get the art supplies! Lol Mine are monkeys!
So cute! I love how this turned out. As a mom of an avid kid crafter I love how you put this all together and so functional too! I’ll be featuring this on my party highlight post. Thanks for stopping by Crafty Tuesday and linking up!
Thank you so much! We are loving it so much I am working on a portable art station to take outside. So excited to be featured on your highlight too!
Have a Happy Week!

This is such a great idea! Thank you for linking up at Fluster’s Creative Muster. Hope to see you next week!
Robin @ Fluster Buster
It’s perfect! I’m desperate for something like that to store all of our art supplies – they multiply overnight!
I understand about the multiplying art supplies! We get a new batch at each holiday. Love to see the storage ideas you come up with!
Have a Happy Week!

Such a great idea! I need one of these for my kiddos. Is your ABC art your creation? I completely love it!
Thank you so much! We are really enjoying it! The ABC Art is actually just a piece of scrapbook paper I fell in love with at Archivers and framed. I bet they still have the paper…It was not that long ago that I purchased it.
Have a Happy Week!
Ariean
It is adorable! I will see if I can track some down… I don’t think there’s an Archivers near me. Thanks for the info!
Hi!
I am contributing writer on the blog I Heart Naptime and I am writing an upcoming post about organizing the home and would love to include one photo plus link to your art organization post. You linked this up to my blog party a little while back and I loved it!
I know that we all love exposure and the post will go live next week, but I just wanted to make sure you wouldn’t mind the photo and link back. Let me know if you’d rather not be included.
Thanks,
Marie
Of course, of course! I would LOVE to be included…Thanks for making my day!
Ariean
Love the dresser and decor you added! What a great idea! Did you make the cute framed alphabet and HAPPY letters?
Thank you so much! It is one of my best home decor ideas…we use it daily! The alphabet is a piece of scrapbook paper I purchased at Archivers and you can see how I made the HAPPY letters here http://onekriegerchick.com/2013/04/11/spring-garland-15-minute-craft/.
So glad you stopped by! Have a Happy Day!
Ariean
